Common questions
Why can't I stake on Coinbase in my state?
Coinbase stopped new staking in California, Maryland, New Jersey and Wisconsin after state securities orders in June 2023. Existing stakes can be unstaked.
Which apps let you stake in California, Maryland, New Jersey or Wisconsin?
Of the apps we track, Coinbase, Robinhood and Crypto.com do not allow staking there, and Kraken's onchain staking list leaves them out. Binance.US and Uphold list no such block (Uphold limits California). Gemini has not published a state list.
Is this advice?
No. It is information from each app's own help pages, dated. Check the app before staking.
